We’re thrilled to announce that EZ Quilting is sponsoring the QuiltCon 2016 Triangle Quilt Challenge.
This year’s challenge is to create a quilt using one of the EZ Quilting Triangle Templates designed by Darlene Zimmerman. These templates make it easy to create intricate designs from your scraps. Participants should use the Mini 60ª or 45º Simplicity Ruler in some part of their quilt.
Challenge participants can sign up to get a free ruler or can pick up their own template at simplicity.com.
Like previous challenges, we have many more members than available templates… We wish everyone could get one, but the templates are first come, first serve. Additionally, we ask that everyone who signs up please plan to submit their final quilt to the EZ Quilting Triangle Quilt Challenge category at QuiltCon — like other categories, this category is eligible for judging and awards up to $1,000!
To be eligible, quilts may use any of the EZ Quilting Triangle Templates designed by Darlene Zimmerman, but any shape can be in the quilt. The completed quilts can be any size. The submitted quilt that are juried in will be entered it into EZ Quilting Triangle Quilt Challenge category at QuiltCon. The top prize for this category is $1,000!

Official EZ Quilting Triangle Quilt Challenge Category Description – quilts should be made using one or more of the EZ Quilting Triangle Templates. Additional shapes can be included in the quilt.
The registration link will be sent out via email to members on July 7th at 10 a.m. Eastern time, 7 a.m. Pacific. To make things easy, here’s a handy time converter so you’ll know exactly when the link will be available to you. Registration is open until templates are gone or until July 17th. Templates go quickly, so if you’re sure you want to enter, don’t wait! Also, remember that you don’t have to get the free template to be involved – you can purchase the template at your LQS or at simplicity.com.
All templates will be shipped by the end of July, and the deadline for entries is November 30, 2015 (the same as other QuiltCon quilt show entries).
Please keep in mind that quilt entries are online only. You may submit as many quilts as you’d like and the registration fee is $30 for up to three quilts. Want to submit more than three? It’s another $30 for up to three more.
